BEST Autoresponder For Affiliate Marketing 2020 – (Best Price!)

Ready to start building your email list? If so you may be asking your what is the best autoresponder for affiliate marketing? After all there are many different companies to choose from such as GetResponse, Aweber, Sendlane, Mailchimp and more.

Don’t sweat it!

I have listed the most popular email auto responders an affiliate can use for their email marketing needs. If you read to the bottom, you will get my opinion on which one is the best and why I chose it.

What Is An Email Autoresponder Used For

You probably have heard it before, “the money is in the list“.

Which means that if you have an online business whether it be affiliate marketing, MLM or e-commerce, you want to build a list of people that have visited your site and shown an interest in your products or services.

Once you have a list, you can use an autoresponder to send out emails at designated intervals to your subscribers containing information or offers.

As an affiliate with a blog, I use an auto responder to promote my free 5 step course on starting an online business. A series of emails goes out guiding members of my list through the process of getting started.

Why Use An Autoresponder

You have spent a lot of time, energy and money growing your business. Either organically or using pay per click.

The reality is that a lot of the visitors to your site are going to take a quick look and leave for whatever reason. There is the possibility of still turning them into a customer if you get them on a email list.

It is said that you need to make contact with that subscriber at least 5 to 7 times before they will make a purchase from you.

Done correctly the autoresponder does this for you automatically.

Having A List Is The Least Expensive Form Of Advertising

Having an email list with a loyal following means that if done correctly you should be able to send offers to them on a regular basis and earn income from it.

Statista reports that marketers will be spending more on their email budgets going into the year 2019.

So its a good time to get started.

Warning About Using An Autoresponder For Affiliate Marketing

You might be tempted to take advantage of some of the companies offering a free autoresponder service.

Such companies as MailChimp, MailerLite and there a few other lessor known ones.

They are not affiliate marketing friendly!

What Could Go Wrong?

Basically what happens is that an affiliate builds their email list over time and they get everything dialed in and running smoothly.

Then one day out of the blue getting a notice saying that their account is banned not being able to send any more emails.

MailChimp is known for doing this.

To make it even more confusing, here is what they say on their website:

We treat affiliate marketing and affiliate links differently. Affiliate marketing is prohibited under our Terms of Use, but affiliate links are usually fine to use in MailChimp.

This is a very confusing statement.

So basically they covered themselves either way. They want your business by saying they “allow affiliate links“, but by saying  we “don’t allow affiliate marketing” they can ban you from the service if they want.

Not worth the risk or headache in my opinion.

The Best Autoresponder For Affiliate Marketing

When I started looking, I factored in more than the price. I was willing to pay more for one that was easy to use and gave me exactly what I needed.

Let’s begin with my top picks to see what they offer and which one is my favorite.

3. Sendlane Autoresponder

Sendlane are the “new guys” on the block.

What makes them unique is that the company was founded by well known affiliate marketers Jimmy Kim, Anik Singal and Zakariah Meftah.

So as you can imagine, when they got the chance to build an autoresponder from the ground up, they included everything that a marketer would need to run successful campaigns.

Along with all the bells and whistles you get with this service you will have to pay a little more than you might with some of the other more established players.

These guys were one of the first email autoresponders available so they are well established.

They are also know for providing good customer service as well which is important if your a newbie just getting started.

Why You May Not Want To Use Aweber

Although they are established players in the industry they don’t have as many features as some of the other newer email service providers.

1. GetResponse Autoresponder ( My choice! )

GetResponse is another of the original companies to provide email marketing services for marketers dating back to 1997.

Some of the top internet marketing companies use them and promote their services such as JVzoo and Warrior Forum. Also well known companies such as Avon, Tigerwoods Foundation and Hilton have become customers.

You have the ability to integrate with 100’s of different services including Facebook, YouTube, SalesForce CRM, and Google Analytics.

Is GetResponse The Best Autoresponder For Affiliate Marketing

Being one of the older email marketing companies, they have developed a large set of features that have kept up with the advances in marketing.

  • Landing pages

  • Webinars

How Much Does GetResponse Cost

They offer 4 different levels of service which are called Email, Pro, Max, and Enterprise.

The prices shown above are if you are paying per month. If you want to get the best deal, then I would look at the yearly deals.

  • 18% discount if you pay for a year up front
  • 30% discount if you pay for 2 years up front

As an example if you took the $15 monthly plan and applied the 18% discount, it would end up being $12.30 and if you did the 2 year up front at 30% off then it would be $10.50 per month!

They do offer a 30 day free trial, so you get to try out the features.

GetResponse As The Best Autoresponder For Affiliate Marketing

When I was looking to start building my email list for marketing, the main things that I needed were to capture email addresses, send out a welcome message and then create an automated sequence.

Just about every email service provider in the marketing niche offers a way to catch emails and has an autoresponder to engage subscribers. What they didn’t have was the automation aspect.

Watch the video below for a better explanation of whats possible using automation.

Now you have an idea what is possible using the automation that comes with a GetResponse autoresponder. This can help to grow your affiliate marketing business.

Things To Consider

When trying to decide between all the different email services available it can get confusing.

On top of that, many of them don’t want to work with affiliate marketers. You then run the risk of getting banned and having to start over.

The best autoresponder for affiliate marketing will be based on your needs as well as the price that you want to pay.

Don’t over pay for features you will never use.

Why I Chose The GetResponse Autoresponder

After looking at the different offerings I made the choice to go with GetResponse because they had everything I needed at a price that the others couldn’t match.

  • Best pricing (I paid yearly so cost per month is $12.30 per month! )
  • Segmentation and automation
  • Modern designed dashboard
  • Good delivery rate
  • One of the oldest companies in the business.

If your looking for the best autoresponder for affiliate marketing, then you owe it to yourself to give GetResponse a try.

  1. I totally get why you choose GetResponse…. but as a mailchimp user there is a way around the affiliate marketing vs affiliate link. Some of us can’t pay the price for a auto responder right away. Especially if we haven’t made any money with our affiliate marketing efforts. I also understand what you mean by mailchimp not being forth coming but I think the marketer has to make a conscious decision and unique method to not necessarily send emails as an affiliate marketer but as an email with affiliate links as part of the email message. That’s just my opinion. If I had the money to spend right away I would use Get Response because it has better pricing but for the beginner marketer sometimes using the free options such as mail chimp would have to be sufficient. I think it was important that you gave us a heads up on what to do and what not to do if we use the free option.

    • Thanks for the comment Jamie.

I understand that people are on a budget and only have so much to spend, but you don’t want to spend time building an email list to only have it shutdown.

You might want to see this thread here of a lady that lost her MailChimp account and list after using it for 3 years.

That is why I chose GetResponse as one of the best autoresponders for affiliate marketing. They are affiliate friendly and have the features at the lowest price.

If your going to build a email list free really isn’t the best way to go in the long run.

  2. At what stage do you think it is right to start collecting email addresses and using an auto-responder?

My issue with this is that I don’t want to commit to a monthly subscription fee if I have nobody signing up to to my mailing list yet. It seems a bit of a waste until it is certain that there will be signups. Do you have any insights about when getting an auto-responder should be considered?

    • Hi Lesley,

I hear what your saying and no one wants to spend money when they may not have a lot of traffic to their website.

One thing to consider is that when you first set up your autoresponder it can take a little time to get everything just the way you want it with your email sequence.

Plus there is a learning curve that you need to take into consideration on how to use all the functionality.

So it doesn’t hurt to actually get an your auto-responder before you have a lot of traffic.Don’t think of it as an expense but rather a tool to help you grow your business.

  3. I highly recommend you check the recent reviews at Trust Pilot before considering GetResponse (43 reviews | Trust Score 1.6) There are some very detailed recent bad reviews of extremely poor service and unsubstantiated banned accounts.

    • Thanks for heads up.

I have not had any problems with the GetResponse service myself but I am only using the autoresponder and have yet to set up any automation.

I know a lot of the bigger marketers use more than one service at a time so all their eggs are not in one basket.

    • Absolutely agree with checking out the Trustpilot reviews. Add me to the long list of people who have had their Getresponse account closed without warning or right of appeal, losing a 4-year list in the process. Heartbreaking.

      • Sorry to hear that Ainsley.

Most email autoresponder companies are very touchy when it comes to having their ip addresses flagged. So they can close your account for excessive spam complaints or bounces from bad email addresses.

  4. Thanks for posting this, really helpful. Definitely pays to diversify. A company can flip on its policy, just as easily as google and facebook.
Mailchimp comes to mind I wish they were upfront before I signed on,

    • Yes there are many different companies offering an autoresponder service but its important to choose the right one for you because it can be a pain to switch later on.

If your an affiliate marketer then its good to stick with the companies that are affiliate friendly so there will be less chance of having problems.

Then it boils down to the features you need at the price your willing to pay.

For me I am glad that I made the decision to go with Getresponse.

  5. Hi guys What is the best email marketing software for any kind of buisness here is the solution of your confusion.
, I’m on a mission to expand my business. So I’ve been trying every list-building technique in the book. More subscribers, more potential sales.

Know what works best so far? It’s giving visitors lots of creative ways to sign up for my list. So I’ve been exploring the collection of form types included in my GetResponse email marketing account.

For example, on my blog, I can create a scroll form that follows the reader as they scroll down the page — a friendly reminder to sign up for updates. Or place a fixed-bar form at the top of the reader’s browser, so it’s always in view.

And GetResponse includes interesting ways to grab attention — a shake form that … well, it shakes (very gently) to catch the reader’s eye. There’s an exit pop-up form you can set to appear when the reader is leaving (to reduce bounces). And an image pop-up form that allows you to add a colorful photo or image.

One of my strategies is to offer a sign-up incentive. I use a download form that releases the e-document and adds the new subscriber to my marketing list

You can customize these forms. In fact, there’s a Color Magic tool that matches the form colors to the colors on your website or blog automatically. And any form can be coded to add the new subscriber to the campaign of your choice.

Difficult? Nope. After I finish choosing the settings, I copy a snippet of code and paste it into the website HTML — and there it is, looking great.

What else? Oh yes, you can add custom fields to the form. The extra data is useful for segmenting my list, personalizing messages, and providing dynamic content.

As you know, I started using social media to build my list. (If you’re not, it’s time to wake up and smell the coffee.) GetResponse has free tools that integrate sign-up forms with everyday business tools like Facebook, WordPress, PrestaShop, Joomla, WooCommerce, and many more.

To sum up, I couldn’t be happier with the growth of my email list. Once you get forms in place, they keep working night and day, week after week. And if a particular form seems to be under-producing, I can run an A/B test and then tweak it to find out what works best.

You can try GetResponse free for 30 days as well.

    • Wow Emma you basically hammered home what I have been telling people all along about the GetResponse email service.

The main reason for me to use them is that they are friendly towards affiliate marketers and you won’t have to worry about being banned from using the service just because your using affiliate links within your emails.

They also had a more modern user interface than Aweber and much better pricing than Sendlane so it was a definite go for me when it came to choosing.

In my opinion GetResponse is the best autoresponder for affiliate marketing based on cost and features and as you said they do offer a 30 day free trial.

  6. The autoresponder I use now is very cheap. It costs $25/month for 50,000
subscribers. You also get 50% recurring commissions for referrals. Before,
I used Mailchimp and Mailerlite but affiliate marketing is not allowed
and they banned me. This autoresponder allows affiliate marketing. It’s also quite easy to use. I got a headache trying to use Getresponse and Aweber before.

    • This is exactly why I mentioned not to use MailChimp in my post. You don’t want to spend time and money only to be shutdown because they don’t like affiliate marketing on their autoresponders.

Its best to stick with well known services that are affiliate friendly.

My favorite is GetResponse because they are an affiliate friendly autoresponder service and their pricing is some of the best in the industry.

    • What is the name of the service you use?

    • Hello Lima, What is the name of the autoresponder? I am so interested

  7. I think you have a vested interested in GetResponse as you get some Affiliate money when people sign up. Aweber is also pretty good as are others like Mailget Bolt which is a new comer in the market.

    • Of course I am an affiliate for the GetResponse autoresponder. As a user I want everyone to know why I use the service and the benefits.

Now I could also promote and refer others to Aweber as well as the many different autoresponders out there and make money from them but I don’t because I don’t use them.

There are different email service providers that you can sign up with but not all of them integrate with all the different available services.

GetResponse has been around from the beginning and they integrate with the majority of popular services.

For me I like to stick with proven companies and I don’t have any regrets so far using the GetResponse email service.

  8. I’m really glad I read your article!

I had no idea that Mailchimp in particular were not welcoming of affiliate marketeers.  I used Mailchimp to set up my own autoresponder but I think it may be time to go back and re-evaluate that decision.  It would be a real crisis for any business to build up a list of reliable customer, only to find you can’t get access to it one day.

Like many others, I was attracted to a free autoresponder as it was a cost that I didn’t want to bear at the start.  Further down the line it’s time to reconsider the costs against the risk of losing a valuable list.

I’m going to try GetResponse on the 30-day trial as the feature list is a great fit for my sites.

Do you know if the full feature list is available in the trial?

    • Hey Nick,

Yes unfortunately a lot of people fall into the same trap of signing up for MailChimp’s free autoresponder only to find out that they are risking their time, money and list.

If you can afford $10 to $15 per month then you consider GetResponse because they do offer all the tools needed to get started and they are affiliate friendly.

They don’t include everything with the free 30 day trial. You won’t get the landing pages or the ability to host webinars.

But you can go month to month if your really interested in trying out all the features.

  9. Hi! I highly recommend ActiveTrail cause before I choose a platform I proceed on their reviews first like what I’ve done on GetResponse and I found a lot of negative Reviews, so I don’t consider it as my tool.

    • I can only speak from my experience and from other marketers that I know.

We believe that GetResponse has one of the best autoresponders when it comes to internet marketing both in price and features.

I often see people jumping from one email service provider to another thinking that one is better than the other when in reality the “big guys” stay with the tried and true autoresponder services that have been around.

  10. I got banned from getresponse for afffliate marketing

    • Hey Rup sorry to hear that.

I do know that you will get banned if there is a lot of complaints against you.

The GetReponse autoresponder service is one that is used by some top internet marketers so if your offers are legitimate and your not spamming you shouldn’t have been banned.

      • Hi
No spamming the list was op-tin from the getrespone hosted pages and optins were all from the getresponse forms.i was promoting affiliate offers from Cli…b..k.

  11. Swift Response Pro Autoresponder service is one that is used by some top internet marketers so if your offers are legitimate and your not spamming you wouldn’t have be banned. They offer competitive pricing points and has features that rival most autoresponders on the market today.

    • Unfortunately after looking at your suggestion I can say without a doubt there are very few if any top internet marketers using the autoresponder that you are recommending. Its better to stick with the email marketing software from the guys that have been in the business for years instead of these no name providers that pop up such as Swift Response Pro.
